From ScreenRant.com – The Star Wars franchise has grown in many ways since Disney acquired Lucasfilm back in 2012, most obviously through a new film slate that alternates between the numbered episodes of the Skywalker family saga and standalone anthology movies. By now, many are aware that the first of those spinoffs, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story hits theaters in December 2016; the second, a young Han Solo tale, is set for a May 2018 premiere.
According to The Wrap, the filmmakers are looking to cast a young Lando Calrissian for the prequel. Billy Dee Williams was the one who first brought the character to life in The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi, returning to reprise the role in a couple episodes of Star Wars Rebels. As of now, no potential names have been linked to the role.
