It is a beauty to behold, a beauty made for a beast…
The first official trailer for Disney’s live-action version of Beauty and the Beast was just dropped today and it is definitely something to look at. And I’m not just saying that. The CGI looks good. The set up is almost exactly what it was in the animated classic, and I’m lady bonering over the costumes right now. Yeah, I just used that term without shame. Deal with it.
The set up in the trailer is what we’ve come to know from the animated classic. We meet Maurice (Kevin Kline), Belle’s Father, as he stumbles upon the Beast’s (Dan Stevens) castle. Belle (Emma Watson) comes to the castle and exchanges her life for her Father’s due to the love and affection she has for him. Throughout the remainder of the trailer, Belle learns that the Beast isn’t as cranky and evil as he appears to be and, soon, they fall in love. However, things aren’t calm back at Belle’s village. Gaston (Luke Evans) is riling up the villagers to go attack the castle because the Beast has Belle.
Make sure you take a look at the trailer below and let us know your thoughts. Disney’s Beauty and the Beast will come roaring into theaters on March 17, 2017.
