Anticipation is high for the new Star Wars stand-alone film, SOLO: A STAR WARS STORY. Ever since the trailer came out a few weeks ago, any worries I had for the often troubled film went away quickly.

The highlight of both the teaser and trailer hands down was Lando Calrissian played by the devilishly cool Donald Glover. He didn’t say a word in all the footage yet he came out looking the most intriguing.

In a new interview with ET promoting the second season of ATLANTA, Glover said that SOLO is going to be a lot more fun than previous Star Wars films.

Here’s what he had to say:

“I think it’s just a lot more fun. All the Star Wars [movies] are really fun, but I think this movie, we know what’s going to happen, we know they’re not going to die, ya know? We know, kind of, what happens, but how we got there, I guess, is the crux of it. So we’re allowed to have a lot more fun than I think the other movies where you have to deal with a lot of the lineage in what’s going to happen. I think this movie’s, like, just a fun, summer film. I’m really excited about it. It’s really cool.”

This film sounds like it’s going to veer away from the last two darker Star Wars films ROGUE ONE and THE LAST JEDI, and I’m all for that. Fun is what made the original trilogy so damn amazing.

We’ll just have to wait until May to see the final results.
