Would you believe it if I told you that George Lucas is way more involved in the inner workings of the soon yet to be announced Obi-Wan Kenobi stand alone film?

Well there’s a rumor going around over on MovieWeb, that production will start next year on the Kenobi film and Lucas himself is in Ireland scouting locations.

According to the Belfast Telegraph, crew and staff at the Paint Hall film studios have been informed that a “Star Wars” film will begin production there in 2019.

Supposedly they’ve been told as soon as Game Of Thrones which is currently in production there is done shooting entirely, Lucasfilm will be setting up shop.

“We’ve been told there will be work throughout 2019 because Star Wars is coming to Belfast,” an insider said.

“It was all very low key, only a few people knew that the old guy walking round the set was George Lucas.

“It was only when we were told about Star Wars coming here next year that it dawned on us that was why he was here before Christmas.”

I find it interesting that after Kathleen Kennedy announced last week that Lucas came on the set of Solo and even helped with a scene, we get this interesting rumor.

Does this mean that Kathleen Kennedy wants Lucas to possibly have more of a hand in upcoming Star Wars films? Especially after the backlash that The Last Jedi received. Maybe bringing on a visionary like Lucas isn’t a bad idea.

What do you guys think? Do you want Lucas to have say in any upcoming Star Wars films? Let us know below.
