Doctor Strange’s journey through the Marvel Universe has always been full of twists and turns and this summer, as part of its Fresh Start initiative, Marvel will be sending the Sorcerer Supreme into space as Mark Waid and Jesus Saiz relaunch the title in June.
Eisner Award winning writer Waid, whose work at Marvel over the years has included acclaimed runs on Fantastic Four, The Amazing Spider-Man, The Indestructible Hulk and the 2010 4-issue mini-series “Strange”, is excited to get to spend some more time with the Sorcerer Supreme:
I’ve been a Strange fan forever, but I’ve never been lucky enough to write an extended run featuring the good doctor. Along with editor Nick Lowe, we’ve come up with some new and very unexpected places to take Stephen Strange in the Marvel Universe — starting with the stars. When Strange’s magic suddenly exhausts itself, he’ll have to travel off-earth to recharge his batteries.
It appears that in order to recharge, Strange will have to pair up with facial hair bro Tony Stark to help outfit him for deep space travel as he looks to find a way to reconnect with the mystical energies of Earth.
Doctor Strange #1 will be on shelves June 6th!
