In the novelization of The Last Jedi, the question as to how Kylo Rensurvived Chewbacca’s blaster shot to the abdomen, has been answered. Snoke asks Kylo how is wound is, Ren tries to play it off and replies, “It’s nothing.” He was clearly all jacked up from being shot at and sliced in the face. WELL GUESS WHAT, now it’s canon to retain energy from the force in a wound. Kind of like the kimoyo beads from Black Panther. We already saw this when he froze the blaster shot from Poe and froze Rey. He was too busy being frozen from murdering his dad to realize he was an open target.

When Chewie shot him, he knelt down and contained the energy right away which kept him from dying. The question still remains if he’s the only person known to achieve this force power. I’m sure the answer to this is, “He’s a Skywalker.”   It will be interesting to know if this will happen again in an upcoming film in the franchise. Maybe Luke will teach Rey this ability in Episode IX, OR MAYBE KYLO WILL. We’ll just have to wait to see what happens. What do you guys think?
