This week on the Star Wars Show, Donald Glover and Alden Ehrenreich sat down with the crew and talked about what it was like working on the film. When asked what makes SOLO more unique than previous films Ehrenreich said:
“It has a lot of jokes,” he said. “A lot of humor.
“You spend more time dealing with feelings and the inner life of the characters. All of the characters, in a way.”
On where Han is in his life, he explained: “I think you’re meeting him at a time when he’s young and he’s an idealist.
“He still has kind of a romantic vision or feeling that he’s gonna get out of this.
“He grew up in rough circumstances so [he’s focussed on] getting out of that and making a life for himself.”
When Glover was asked if being a STAR WARS fans helped him with the role of Lando:
“You tend to do a better job when you’re a fan,” he reasoned. “You have standards.”
He went on to explain what he did to celebrate after getting word he was the dashing scoundrel,
” I went home, ordered a pizza and watched Empire Strikes Back. And then a ton of 70’s stuff”
That’s pretty much how I’d celebrate.
Solo: A Star Wars Story is out on May 25.
