After starring in 2017’s Power Rangers as Kimberly, Naomi Scott is slowly becoming a hot name for big name movie properties. She is set to appear as Princess Jasmine in Disney’s live-action Aladdin remake. Now it appears she is set to join another popular franchise that has been around for over 40 years.
We have learned that Naomi Scott is set to join the cast of Sony Pictures Charlie’s Angels reboot alongside Kristen Stewart and Lupita Nyong’o (Who is still in talks). Elizabeth Banks (Pitch Perfect 3) is set to direct as well as take on the role of Bos. Production will take place in Berlin and will begin shooting in September and is expected to wrap sometime in January 2019.

There’s also no word yet on who will voice Charlie. American actor John Forsythe was the omnipresent voice in the original and, impressively, reprised the role two decades later for the film remakes. Sadly, he’s not an option to star in the new remake given he passed away in 2010.
Charlie’s Angels originally started as a TV series, which ran for five seasons on ABC from 1976 to 1981. As well as two movies from the early 2000s, starring Lucy Liu, Drew Barrymore and Cameron Diaz. Charlie’s Angels and Charlie’s Angels: Full Throttle were quite successful, bringing in a combined $523 million worldwide. There was also a short-lived television reboot that aired in 2011. This reboot comes with a script from Evan Spiliotopoulos (Beauty and the Beast) David Auburn (The Lake House) and screenwriting duo Doug Miro and Carlo Bernard (The Great Wall).
Charlies Angels will hit theaters on June 7, 2019.
