[RETRACTION] That Hashtag Show was contacted last night by Frances McDormand’s agent and were told that she was never in negotiations for the role and passed on the film.
She was never doing this film. I’m her agent. You should check your stories before running them. And don’t trust this source in the future.

That Hashtag Show has learned that Oscar-winning actress Frances McDormand has joined the cast of 2020’s Godzilla Vs. Kong. We first broke the news of the studio’s interest in McDormand in mid-June and we can now confirm that the two sides have come to an agreement.
McDormand, who won Academy Awards for Best Actress for 1997’s Fargo and 2018’s Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri, along with three Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for her work in 1989’s Mississippi Burning, 2001’s Almost Famous and 2006’s North Country. is joining the cast in a lead role alongside Millie Bobby Brown, Kyle Chandler and Julian Dennison.
The fourth film in Legendary Studio’s “Monster-verse”, Godzilla Vs. Kong will see “the Gigantic Kong meets the unstoppable Godzilla. The world watches to see which one becomes the king of all monsters.” The Adam Wingard directed Godzilla Vs. Kong, aka Apex, is set to go into production this fall and is scheduled to hit theaters May 22, 2020.
