Burt Reynolds, best known for his roles in Smokey and the Bandit, Deliverance, Boogie Nights, and who could forget, the voice of Evie’s father, Troy Garland, in the late 80’s Sci-Fi sitcom, Out of This World, has died at the age of 82.

In 1972’s Deliverance he starred alongside John Voight as one of four Atlanta men who decide to canoe down a river in a remote area of Georgia where their lives are changed forever. This would turn out to be a breakout role for the star. Reynolds is also known for turning down a number of significant roles. He was reportedly up for the role of Han Solo, Don Corleone, and even James Bond, a move he’d later come to regret.
