Reddit user JediPaxis has been providing Episode IX rumors for some time. By and large the Reddit user’s source of information has been relatively reliable. Now JediPraxis gives us a cut-sheet of concept art from the film. Upon review it appears authentic, based on evidence we’ve seen already. Let’s break down this Episode IXconcept art and see what we can confirm.

Episode IX Concept Art Confirms Rumors, Disappoints Fans.

First and foremost, here is the leaked Episode XI concept art in question:

Leaked Episode IX concept art, as seen on Reddit.

Take a look at panel K, “Adventure Poe”. The costume this panel depicts is spot-on consistent with what we’ve seen in leaked set photos of Poe with Finn, Chewbacca and (possibly) Lando’s daughter:

Likewise, we previously reported that BB-8 will be getting a buddy. Panel B of the Episode IX concept art seems to confirm that, as well. (For discerning eyes, this leaked art looks very much like the work of Star Wars artist Jake Lunt Davies.)

The leaked Episode IX concept art piece also seems to confirm rumors that Kylo Ren will repair and don his helmet again, with shades of red indicating the repairs (see panel J).  There are also reference photos for Lando Calrissian and a new costume for Rey. As much as this news excites fans however, it also brings a bit if disappointment.

Ever since Lucasfilm announced that Richard E. Grant was joining the cast, fans hoped he portray Grand Admiral Thrawn in live action. Sadly, that doesn’t appear to be the case. Again seeming to confirm earlier rumors, it seems he’ll portray a First Order officer, after all.

All in all there is a lot to digest in this piece of leaked Episode IX concept art. Review, dissect, examine, and tell us your thoughts!
