The Attack on Crait

Star Wars: Episode VIII

I was never one to find particular fault with the nostalgia factor that the sequel trilogy exhibits. Case in point: the attack on Crait. Sure, it had shades of the Battle of Hoth, but this still felt different. The juxtaposition of the red earth beneath the white salt surface gave a sense of urgency to the scene you didn’t see in The Empire Strikes Back. It was almost as if the Resistance was bleeding in fact, and no matter what happened, there would be no healing the wounds. The speeders streaking across the salt flat towards the First Order walkers was one of my favorite scenes of Star Wars: Episode VIII.
