The next few years are going to be crucial for Warner Bros.’ ongoing DC cinematic universe as they keep pursuing new and returning franchises. One of them will be a semi-reboot/sequel to David Ayer’s Suicide Squad. Guardians of the Galaxy director James Gunn helms The Suicide Squad that will be somewhat connected to the first installment.

For the last couple of months, we have had numerous casting additions. However, most of their roles are still being kept under wrap. After a long period of endless rumors of who will star as who in the film, Gunn took to Twitter to finally reveal the full official cast for the project. But the director made it very clear that people need to remember the actual meaning of the name Suicide Squad.

Unveiling the entire cast for the DC picture, Gunn stressed: “don’t get too attached.”

For anyone who has followed the group over the years, the whole point behind Task Force X is that not everyone survives the missions they go on. As the group consists of bad guys going on dangerous missions that in turn will grant them reduced prison sentences and more. So with a big cast like this, it’s wise to take Gunn’s warning into account as some of these characters will not make it out alive from the film.

Gunn reveals Suicide Squad cast

Starting with the returning actors, we have Margot Robbie, Viola Davis, Jai Courtney, and Joel Kinnaman. They will return as Harley Quinn, Amanda Waller, Captain Boomerang, and Rick Flagg respectively. The rest of the star-powered cast consists of new players with Peter Capaldi, Taika Waititi, Alice Braga, Tinahe Kajese, Nathan Fillion, Mayling Ng, Flula Borg, John Cena, Sean Gunn, Juan Diego Botto, Julio Ruiz, Jennifer Holland, Storm Reid, Pete Davidson, and Joaquín Cosío.

Sure, there are rumblings of who these actors will be playing. But… until Gunn reveals it himself who they are, take what you read with a grain of salt. Several of them have previously worked with Gunn on his other projects. We also have the previously announced actors with David Dastmalchian, Daniela Melchior, and Steve Agee joining the movie as Polka-Dot Man, Ratcatcher, and King Shark, respectively.

With production reportedly set to start this month, we’ll hopefully learn more soon what characters we will actually see make their debut in Gunn’s film. Be sure to let us know who you think some of these actors are playing in the comments section below!
