About Hoops

Hoops is an adult animated comedy series. Johnson stars as a hot-headed, foul-mouthed high school basketball coach. He thinks fixing his god-awful team will take him to the “big leagues.” And then he’ll turn his whole miserable life around.

Other cast members include Natasha Leggero, Ron Funches, Rob Riggle, Cleo King, and A.D. Miles.

The series comes from creator Ben Hoffman, who executive produces alongside Johnson. Seth Cohen, M. Dickson, Itay Reiss, Phil Lord, and Christopher Miller also executive produce. Bento Box handles the animation.

More in adult animation

Netflix isn’t the only platform trying to increase its adult animated slate.

Cartoon Network has been making a big push into adult animation. The network recently announced a Ren and Stimpy reboot. Cartoon Network will also produce a new Beavis and Butt-head series, as well as Daria spinoff Jodie.

Hoops producer 20th Century Fox airs a number of adult animated series on the Fox broadcast network. In addition to Hoops, the studio collaborates with Bento Box animation on popular series Bob’s Burgers.
