If you were into the new wave of American Thrash Metal, you knew who Power Trip are. That band, was the preeminent leader in the genre and poised to make major waves over the next decade plus. In a tragic and horrible turn of events, Brooklyn Vegan has confirmed that the singer died late last night. The message from his family goes as such.

Dear Power Trip fans worldwide,

It is with the greatest of sadness we must announce that our lead singer and brother Riley Gale passed away last night.
Riley was a friend, a brother, a son. Riley was both a larger than life rock star and a humble and giving friend. He touched so many lives through his lyrics and through his huge heart. He treated everyone he met as a friend and he always took care of his friends.

We will celebrate Riley’s life and never forget the great works of music, charity, and love that he left behind. You, the fans, meant so much to him, please know how special you are. If you have a memory of Riley please share it, no matter how small, as we remember him.
Please respect our wishes for privacy during this time. In lieu of flowers please send donations to Dallas Hope Charities, the link to donate directly is here: https://bit.ly/3jcyY5y

Signed,
– Rlley’s Loving Family
P.S. Funeral and visitation arrangements are pending.

Who Are Power Trip And Why Do They Kick So Much Ass

Power Trip was a hugely popular up and coming band. I had the pleasure of seeing them perform live and it was one of the best concerts that I went to in 2019. In a year filled with Iron Maiden, King Diamond, and other legendary bands, it took a lot to stand out. Their special brand of Texas Thrash Metal will be missed.

Riley was every bit of an ambassador to metal. He went particularly after the meathead/white supremacist wing of metal with full force. He will be missed.

The family has asked for privacy during this time and it would be best to remember his memory by listening to their albums. We’ll keep you updated on this story as it develops.
