Rian Johnson is jumping from film to TV. Peacock just ordered 10 episodes of his series Poker Face.

The hour-long mystery series stars Natasha Lyonne (Russian Doll).

“I’m very excited to dig into the type of fun, character driven, case-of-the-week mystery goodness I grew up watching. It’s my happy place. Having Natasha as a partner in crime is a dream, and we’ve found the perfect home at Peacock,” said Johnson.

Other than Johnson’s own description of Poker Face as a “case-of-the-week mystery,” we don’t have other details about the series yet.

Johnson will serve as creator, writer, and director of the original series. He also executive produces alongside partner Ram Bergman and T-Street television president Nena Rodrigue.

“Rian Johnson’s distinct sensibility and talent for telling edge-of-your-seat mysteries is a massive gift for Peacock, and we can’t wait for audiences to delve into each case,” said Lisa Katz, President of Scripted Content at NBCUniversal. “Paired with the acting genius of Natasha Lyonne, this series will be entertaining and addictive.”

Though this will move Johnson into the TV world, he’s known for his previous work in film. His credits include Star Wars: The Last Jedi and Knives Out. While The Last Jedi proved controversial with fans, Knives Out landed Johnson an Academy Award nomination. (Since Poker Face is a mystery series, you’d think it will draw more similarities to Knives Out than Star Wars. But I suppose there’s no guarantee of success with media.)

So, will you give Johnson’s new series a watch? Or is your grudge against The Last Jedi too great? Let us know in the comments.
