The CW’s upcoming live-action Powerpuff Girls series added two more cast members today.

Robyn Lively will play Sara Bellum. In the original cartoon, Sara Bellum served as the secretary to the mayor of Townsville. Jennifer Martin voiced her in the animated series. The show also had a running gag where the character’s face was always out of frame or otherwise not visible. (No word yet on how much of Lively’s face we’ll see in the live-action update.)

Lively’s Sara Bellum is described as “a warm and witty career woman with a complicated romantic history with Drake,” Professor and father to the superhero girls. Always a friend to the Powerpuff Girls, Sara Bellum has remained close to them since their childhood.

Powerpuff will also feature the voice of the original Narrator from the cartoon series, Tom Kenny. (So if nothing else, this show will sound like fans remember.) Kenny also voiced the Mayor, Snake, and other characters from the cartoon run.

Lively and Kenny join several previously announced cast members. The Powerpuff trio themselves will include Chloe Bennet as Blossom, Dove Cameron as Bubbles, and Yana Perreault as Buttercup. Donald Faison also stars as Professor Drake Utonium. And Nicholas Podanny will appear as Mojo Jojo Jr.

Powerpuff from the CW follows up on the Cartoon Network series about a trio of lab-created, pint-sized superhero girls. Now, they’re disillusioned twentysomethings who resent losing their childhood to crimefighting.

Earlier this week, we got our first look at the live-action costumes for the crimefighting trio. Check them out here.

So, what do you think about Powerpuff adding Lively and Kenny? It seems like pretty spot-on casting to me. Let us know in the comments what you think.

Meanwhile, check back to THS for more updates.
