When even the main production staff of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness say the movie is dark, you know it’s going to be so.

You can tell this is the age of COVID-19 here.

Script supervisor for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness Jo Beckett went on Instagram back on April 25, 2021; to announce the end of filming for the movie. Along with that announcement is a photo of the production crew on set in between scenes, and a cryptic hint at the movie’s tone. The hint reads simply: “It’s going to be dark.”. Not much of a hint admittedly, but it’s all we got right now.

The title really gives it away. Plus, you know, the red color. Red is pretty ominous.

Funnily enough, even though that Instagram post is well over a month old by the time of this writing, Marvel fans are going crazy over it. It seems that hype for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is building back up. Especially since this is going to be Marvel’s first foray into the horror genre. Granted, current director Sam Raimi wants to interspace the horror with action and comedy to balance it out, but that’s alright. Too much horror grinds the audience down, in my opinion.

Plus, all you have to do is look at the title to know that something horrifying is probably going to come our way anyways on March 25, 2022. Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness doesn’t exactly sound like a kid-friendly movie title. It sounds more like the title for one of H. P. Lovecraft’s books than anything else. I get the feeling this movie might involve tentacles, and in a non-hentai way too.

Cthulhu fhtagn!

Conclusion

The internet is going nuts over a comment script supervisor Jo Beckett made on Instagram to celebrate the conclusion of filming for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. The comment is simply: “It’s going to be dark.” I guess we’ll be expecting a full-on Marvel horror movie then, no matter how much action and comedy Sam Raimi puts in it.
