Nicolas Cage continues 2021 as the Cage-aissance. Whether that’s Pig, Willy’s Wonderland, or now Prisoners of the Ghostland. The hardest working man in Hollywood brings us an action-western hybrid that he describes as:

Well, when you put it that way, sign me up. I’m in, I was in 2 minutes ago. In the movie, Cage plays a man who has to find the granddaughter of a wealthy warlord. To keep him on his mission, he gets explosives attached to his body and they’ll go off if he doesn’t find her in 5 days. It stars Cage, Bill Moseley, and Sofia Boutella. It’s the first English film of director, Sion Sono‘s career. It releases on September 17th, 2021 in theaters, VOD, and Digital.

In the treacherous frontier city of Samurai Town, a ruthless bank robber (Nicolas Cage) is sprung from jail by wealthy warlord The Governor (Bill Moseley), whose adopted granddaughter Bernice (Sofia Boutella) has gone missing. The Governor offers the prisoner his freedom in exchange for retrieving the runaway. Strapped into a leather suit that will self-destruct within five days, the bandit sets off on a journey to find the young woman—and his own path to redemption.
