It might not be the full-fledged Addams Family from Tim Burton that we expected, but the show Wednesday is getting a familiar sound. Danny Elfman, who’s collaborated with Tim Burton on many projects, is returning to do the theme for Wednesday. The Netflix series comes from Burton and has Showrunners Al Gough and Miles Millar. The cast includes Jenna Ortega, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Luis Guzman, Gwendoline Christie, Hunter Doohan, Percy Hynes White, Joy Sunday, Emma Myers, Riki Lindhome, Jamie McShane, Georgie Farmer, Naomi Ogawa, and Moose Mostafa.

Elfman isn’t just doing the theme for the show; he’s also providing the score for all eight episodes of the series. He’s also collaborating with composer Chris Bacon on the music.

The logline for the series goes like this:

The series is a sleuthing, supernaturally infused mystery charting Wednesday Addams’ years as a student at Nevermore Academy. Wednesday attempts to master her emerging psychic ability, thwart a monstrous killing spree that has terrorized the local town, and solve the supernatural mystery that embroiled her parents 25 years ago — all while navigating her new and very tangled relationships at Nevermore.

Wednesday doesn’t have a release date yet, but it’ll premiere on Netflix in 2022.
