As we know, Leslie Grace (In The Heights) will be portraying Barbara Gordon in the upcoming Batgirl movie on HBOMax. Today we finally get to see her wearing the iconic costume!

BATGIRL COSTUME

On Friday, Grace posted a photo to her Instagram finally sharing her version of Batgirl to the world. The caption to the photo is as follows:

I use their expectations against them. That will be their weakness. Not mine. Let them all underestimate me…and when their guard is down, and their pride is rising, let me kick their butts.” – Batgirl, Year One

Co-Director Adil El Arbi also shared a wider image on his instagram which confirmed the use of yellow combat boots.

From these images, it seems HBOMax is going for the 2014 redesign for Batgirl of Burnside. The design also reminds me of the costume from DC Super Hero Girls cartoon with a hint of Barbara’s costume from the original Batman TV Series from the ‘60s. Personally, I love it. It’s a modern take on an icon look. One that we haven’t see in a Live-Action adaptation yet.

WHAT WE KNOW SO FAR

The film is directed by Bills Fallah (Bad Boys For Life) and is written by Christina Hodson (Birds of Prey/The Flash). The film is expected to have JK Simmons reprise his role as Commissioner James Gordon, and Michael Keaton as Bruce Wayne/Batman. As well as, Brendan Fraser (Doom Patrol), and Jacob Scorpio who have been cast in unknown roles.

There is no release date for the Batgirl film at this time. Stay tuned to That Hashtag Show for more HBOMax news.
