Since the arrival of Ahsoka Tano in season 2 of The Mandalorian, fans have eagerly awaited news on the spin-off series. Finally, today, it looks like we may be one step closer to seeing Ahsoka return. According to reports from Production Weekly, it looks like filming on Ahsoka is scheduled to begin later this month.
‘STAR WARS: AHSOKA’ TO BEGIN FILMING IN JANUARY
Nothing has been confirmed by Lucasfilm or Disney at this time, but there are indications that filming will begin soon. However, one thing to keep in mind when it comes to filming schedules is the impact of COVID. Several productions have been delayed due to COVID-19 concerns, so there is no guarantee Ahsoka will start filming on time.
Lucasfilm has avoided some of the COVID issues thanks partially to their “The Volume” filming stage. This film-making masterpiece was shown off heavily in Disney Gallery: The Mandalorian – Season 1 on Disney+. Their ability to film from this isolated location should aid in controlling the conditions on the filming set. Hopefully, this will translate to fewer chances of COVID delays as fans can’t wait for all of the upcoming Star Wars series we’ve been promised.
HINTS TO ‘THE MANDALORIAN’ SEASON 3 AS WELL
If you pay close attention to the leaked image, you will notice news about The Mandalorian as well. Based on the release, season 3 is set to complete at the end of March 2022. This means we could be on track for a release still later this year.
