Neil Gaiman’s Good Omens will return for season 2. However, the series will be missing key players, Benedict Cumberbatch & Frances McDormand.

GOOD OMENS Cumberbatch & McDormand CASTING NEWS

The full cast of characters for season 2 of Good Omens had been announced! It seems to have both returning OG’s, as well as new additions. However, two familiar voices will not return – Frances McDormand the voice of God, and  Benedict Cumberbatch the voice of Satan. It is unclear if their characters have been fully written out of the series or if they will be recast.

Unlike Cumberbatch and McDormand, those are quite a few people reprising their roles including Derek Jacobi as Metatron, Dame Siân Phillips, Mark Gatiss, Steve Pemberton, Reece Shearsmith, and Niahmh Walsh. Joining the already established cast of angels and demons includes Tim Downie (Outlander), Pete Firman, Andi Osho (I May Destroy You), and Alex Norton.

“We are so thrilled that we were able to get so many fabulous actors to return to the Good Omens family. Some of them are reprising roles, some of them are playing completely new characters. And we are just as thrilled by the people coming to the Good Omens team for the first time. We have an ensemble cast of astonishing talent, and seeing what they’re giving us is a daily treat. I can’t wait until the rest of the world gets that treat, too.”

Neil Gaiman, who serves as writer and co-showrunner.

While it’s somewhat disappointing that Cumberbatch and McDormand will not return, Michael Sheen and David Tennant will both return as Aziraphale and Crowley. While we’re all stoked about season 2, Amazon Prime Video has yet to announce a release date.
