WHAT WE KNOW ABOUT THE FILM

The film will be directed by J.C. Chandor, who most recently directed the 2019 Netflix film, Triple Frontier. Art Marcum & Matt Holloway and Richard Wenk have written the screenplay. Marcum & Holloway previously wrote the screenplay for Iron Man and another Sony Spider-Man Universe film, Moribus. So are no strangers to comic book films. Previous credits for Wenk include the two Equalizer films and also The Magnificent Seven (2016). Kraven the Hunter has targeted a January 2023 release date. Though that date has the potential to change as many projects have experienced delays over the last year.

Kraven is one of several films in development as part of the Sony Spider-Man Universe. Morbius, which features another one-time enemy of Spider-Man, is set to release in April of this year. Madame Web also appears to be progressing with Dakota Johnson in talks to start. Along with two previous Venom films, Sony looks to be rapidly expanding its slate of comic book films.
