The release of the Disney+ Obi-Wan Kenobi series is just over a month away and fans are excited. But the fans were not the only ones ready for this series. Actors Hayden Christensen and Ewan McGregor both prepared for their roles by watching a lot of Star Wars. Christensen not only binged the Star Wars animated shows and watched all the movies as well; while McGregor watched all nine Star Wars films of the Skywalker Saga. Here is what both actors had to say in an interview with Entertainment Weekly.

Hayden Christensen On Preparing For The Obi-Wan Series.

To prepare for his return to Star Wars as Darth Vader, Christensen told Entertainment Weekly that not only did he watch all the Stra Wars movies again, but he also binged Star Wars: The Clone Wars and Rebels.

“I went back and rewatched all the films,” says the man who will be once again going behind the mask as Darth Vader. “And I also got into the animated shows, The Clone Wars and Rebels.”

“It was interesting,” Christensen says of binging The Clone Wars and Rebels. “They did a lot with these characters in those shows. And they did further explore the relationship. There was interesting stuff there to learn about. It was great fun getting to go back and re-immerse yourself in this world that just continues to grow and become more and more vast.”

Ewan McGregor Also Took A Similar Approach On Preparing For The Obi-Wan Kenobi Series

It also seems like Ewan McGregor took the same approach to prep for his return as Obi-Wan Kenobi by rewatching all of the Skywalker Saga. Also what is interesting about this is that this has been the first time McGregor has watched the prequels since they were released.

Any of the old films? Try all of them, even the ones his character wasn’t in. “I watched them from start to finish,” McGregor says. “All nine movies. Just to get back in that world.” (Sorry, Rogue One and Solo, looks like you didn’t make the cut.)

It turns out this was the first time McGregor watched the prequels since they were originally released. “It was interesting to watch our films because I hadn’t seen them since they came out, not at all,” he says. “So it was cool to see and interesting to watch them and enjoy them without all of the noise that was around when they came out.”
