It appears that the official Haikyu!! website has started a mysterious countdown? What does this mean? Well, read on below:

Countdown to Volleyball Victory?

"Haikyu!!" season 4 key art.
AKA: That Very Popular Volleyball Anime.

If you look on the Haikyu!! official website, you can see that there’s a rather mysterious countdown timer ticking down towards 0. According to the time left on the timer, which is a little over 3 days and 8 hours as of this writing, this countdown will expire on August 13, 2022.

Unfortunately, there’s no hint at all from the official website as to what this countdown timer is for. The rumor mill online theorizes it could be the long-rumored season 5 of Haikyu!!, based on a café collaboration announcement confirming that said season 5 was in the works. It seems like the most likely option. However, this is still speculation until we get official confirmation that this is indeed season 5. Take it with a grain of salt until then. At the very least though, we won’t have long to find out if this countdown really is for it.

Haikyu!!: Details

I don’t care for sports anime normally, but I have to admit: that is a nice theme song here.

Taku Kishimoto (Bunny Drop, Erased, Fruits Basket 2019 remake) is the writer, with Yuki Hayashi (My Hero Academia) and Asami Tachibana (Darling in the Franxx, Seraph of the End) composing the music. Lastly, Sentai Filmworks and Crunchyroll licensed this anime for its NA release.

As for what Haikyu!! is about? Well, Crunchyroll has an official synopsis on the anime’s page. Check it out below:
