Walt Disney World is continuing to keep up with the digital age. Starting with switching over from paper Fastpasses to Magic Bands, next they will be switching the Rider Switch Pass, aka the Baby/Child Swap Pass, over to a digital one. I’m sure, part of this reason is these specific paper passes are being sold on eBay and Craigslist, even though the pass says at the bottom “Not For Sale.”
By the end of June, Walt Disney World is hoping to have all of their cast members trained to use the digital pass. With the new digital pass, cast members will no longer be able to issue or receive a physical paper pass. The new Rider Switch Pass will be valid for a certain length of time, where originally it was valid for a month. Intern, riders are no longer able to hold more than one rider switch pass at a time.
Disney Parks are always looking for ways to make family dream vacations smoother, easier, and much more difficult for 3rd party companies. Hopefully, this new digital age will continue that momentum, but we’ll just have to wait and see what happens.
