Daredevil Season 3 Seemingly Confirmed For 2018 Release!

Thanks to a recent Q2 earnings call video, it has seemed to confirm that the third season of Netflix’s Daredevil will be arriving on our screens at some point in 2018.

Many of us had assumed that Daredevil Season 3 would not premiere until early 2019 due to the lack of information we have regarding the upcoming season. Marvel and Netflix have been very tight lipped regarding any details about Matt Murdock’s third small screen outing however thanks to Netflix CEO Ted Sarandos, we have found out that it should be releasing at some point in late 2018.

comicbookmovie.com revealed what was said by Ted Sarandos in an earnings video discussing Netflix‘s second quarter. Ted Sarandos stated that: “In the short term, we’ve got new seasons coming up, in the second half of this year, of Orange is the New Black, Ozark, Iron Fist, Daredevil, Narcos, the finale of House of Cards, the follow-up series to Making a Murderer,”

This means that in 2018 we would not only have received a new season for each of the individual Defender’s, but we will have received 4 Marvel Netflix shows in the same year, breaking a new record. After Jessica Jones Season 2, Luke Cage Season 2, the upcoming second season of Iron Fist and then the third season of Daredevil, Marvel and Netflix have sure been busy this year if Daredevil Season 3 does end up releasing in the back half of the year.

We can assume that it will be releasing in either November or December due to the September slot being occupied by Iron Fist Season 2. This would give fans a couple of months to get through Iron Fist and digest it before moving on to Daredevil in the winter. This also matches up as Netflix prefer to release their “darker” Marvel shows in the winter (Jessica Jones S1, The Punisher S1). So we can infer that this is what they are intending to do with the third season for The Man Without Fear.

While details on Daredevil Season 3 are thin on the ground at the moment, we do know that they will be adapting the fan favourite Born Again storyline while also introducing infamous Daredevil comics villain Bullseye into the fray. After two stellar seasons, we are sure Daredevil will be able to deliver the goods in Season 3, now it’s just waiting to find out the official release date for the season.
