Strange endings and interview slip-ups by the cast seem to suggest, Riverdale is headed into supernatural territory for season 3.

Last night, CW debuted the shocking season 3 premiere of their hit series. After viewing the episode,  there is only one thing to say, “Wow, what an ending!” Now, before you read ahead or watch the video, we just want to say: CAUTION SPOILERS AHEAD!

To recap, in last year’s season finale, Archie Andrews is arrested for the murder of Cassidy Book, a country boy clerk that attempts to rob our cast at the Lodge’s mountain home. Now, in the Season 3 opening episode, ‘Chapter Thirty-Six: Labor Day,’ the drama of Archie’s murder trial begins.  This sets our brooding lead ginger into a mode of self reflection. Meanwhile, the gang makes sure he enjoys his possible last days of freedom.

Season 3 Synopsis:

AND THE VERDICT IS… As the jury begins deliberations in his murder trial, Archie (KJ Apa) makes a surprising request about how he wants to spend his final days of summer. Betty (Lili Reinhart) is forced to deal with her problems head-on after a heated confrontation with Alice (Madchen Amick) and Polly (guest star Tiera Skovbye) brings up some dark secrets she’s kept hidden.

Veronica (Camila Mendes) pleads with Hiram (Mark Consuelos) to step in and help Archie before a verdict is announced. Finally, Jughead (Cole Sprouse) leads the Serpents against the Ghoulies latest attack.
