Spider-Man: Far From Home follows Peter in Europe on vacation following Avengers: Endgame. That’s when Nick Fury recruits Spider-Man to help Mysterio fight the Elementals. The character arrives from another dimension, which likely opened after the many uses of the Infinity Stones on Earth.

While opening the multiverse is the most obvious connection, comic fans may remember that Mysterio caused the rift that originally brought Peter to Miles. In 2012’s Spider-Men, by Brian Michael Bendis and Sara Pichelli, Mysterio is frustrated for missing his chance to kill Peter in the Ultimate Universe. He travels to 616 in search of another.

Spider-Men Ish 1

After Peter easily defeats his multi-dimensional foe, he falls through the dimensional rift and arrives in the Ultimate Universe where he meets Miles, and teams up with him and Nick Fury to stop Mysterio and return Peter to 616.

Mysterio and the Multiverse

I doubt Miles will appear in Spider-Man: Far From Home. Still, it’s possible that Mysterio references the fact that Peter Parker from his dimension is dead. He may even use this story to help convince the MCU web-slinger to help him fight the Elementals. However, this is Mysterio we’re talking about, so maybe he didn’t come from another Earth. Maybe there are no Elementals. Maybe– it’s all just an illusion.

Spider-Man: Far From Home swings into theaters July 2nd and stars Tom Holland (Peter/Spider-Man) and Jake Gyllenhaall (Mysterio). This will be the first movie post Endgame and the final installment of the Infinity Phases.
