A Hawkeye TV series was something that fans were highly speculating would happen even before the release of Avengers: Endgame. Due to some of the casting rumors many hoped Kate Bishop would be introduced in the MCU before Endgame’s conclusion. However, we now know we have to wait until Hawkeye premieres on Disney+ to get our first glimpse of her in action.

San Diego Comic Con didn’t give us mush in the way of details for the new series.  The premise of the Hawkeye series is still a mystery, and both Marvel and Jeremy Renner are being tight lipped. We did learn that Kate Bishop would be in the series. In addition, the series will be in the style of the comic. The logo was also revealed as well as the targeted air date of fall 2021.

Hawkeye details since SDCC…

Unless you were lucky enough to attend the Marvel Studios panel at SDCC 2019, you only got to see pictures of the logos for the upcoming projects. However, if you follow Jeremy Renner on Instagram he shared video of the Hawkeye series promo that debuted at Hall H.

Who is Kate Bishop?

Kate Bishop was part of the Young Avengers team. She had taken on the codename “Hawkeye” to honor the original Hawkeye and his memory. Clint Barton had died during a Kree invasion of New York City. However, during the events of Civil War he is resurrected.

Kate Bishop has an initial encounter with Clint dressed as Captain America, but Kate has no idea it is him.  During a second encounter in Central Park, Kate is attacked by Clint in the guise of Ronin. Clint and Kate meet a few more times over the next few days, culminating in Clint (in his own unique way) officially passing on his bow and mantle to Kate.

Hawkeye is expected to hit the Disney+ streaming service in November of 2021.
