Story Synopsis: Something is Killing the Children #1
Four teenage boys playing truth or dare leads into multiple murders in Something is Killing the Children #1.
The boys were playing truth or dare at a slumber party and James choice truth. He was asked “what’s the most scared you’ve ever been?” However, James didn’t have a good answer for his friends so he made one up.
James said he saw a large creature in his backyard. However, the other boys didn’t believe him. He invited his friends out to the ravine to go look under the bridge, but there was no way he would have known what they would find there.
James was later being interviewed by a police officer because out at the ravine something tore his friends limb from limb and in half. Two weeks later an older teenage girl emerged from the woods covered in blood. However, who is she and who or what did she kill?
Something is Killing the Children #1 Has An Interesting Story With Great Pacing
This is a really interesting first issue of a comic. It starts out very juvenile with the truth or dare, but turns real serious real quick. At first I thought James had something to do with the murders, but then this other girl appears. What she has to do with it is not immediately known. However, she is definitely involved.
I love a good horror book, but have not read one in awhile. The pacing of this issue is done very well. Something is slowly being revealed and as I read the issue I had different theories as to what is killing these kids. However, my theories A total of nine children’s bodies have been found.
As the story goes on a little more is revealed about what is going on. However, not a lot happens in the issue. It just so happens that what does happen and when it happens adds just enough intrigue that I want to read more.
A Great Start To A Horror Story
I am very interested to see what happens next in this comic. Who or what this thing is which is killing these kids is an interesting idea. I also want to see what the deal is with this girl and what is it exactly she is doing in those woods.
This is a very simple and easy to understand story so far, but it is not for kids. We see James’ friends get ripped apart and cry for help as they slowly die. It is graphic and really heart wrenching to see these kids cry for help.
If you are a fan of horror and mystery comics then I suggest checking out Something is Killing the Children #1. It is a great start to a new series and I look forward to reading more and seeing where this story goes.
