The BBC and Doctor Who aren’t messing around during this pandemic. We’re getting plenty of Who content while we all sit inside. This afternoon the BBC announced Doctor Who: Time Lord Victorious. A new crossover event that will span audio, novels, comics, vinyl, digital, immersive theatre, escape rooms and games. The big one missing is film and television, but that would be a might large ask. I for one, cannot wait for this. This time period of Doctor Who is one that reflects a large swath of the fanbase’s first encounters with the Doctor. I started with Number 9, but my favorite is 10. Number 8, portrayed by Paul McGann, got a raw deal, but has been greatly fleshed out over the years through events and projects like this.

The action all starts in September of this year. It continues from September to January of 2021. All three Doctors mentioned above are in the event in addition to Rose Tyler, the Daleks, and the Ood. The Producer of all this Doctor Who madness, James Gloss had this to say:

“BBC Studios’ Doctor Who licensees have come together to tell an amazing epic – one that’s full of monsters, fun and heart. All strands of the story unite into a mighty patchwork that ranges from one end of the universe to the next. There’s more to be revealed, but the enthusiasm and ideas which the licensees have come up with are breath-taking. It’s going to be such fun.”

Set during the Dark Times at the beginning of the Universe, the three Doctors will travel space and time to defend from a strange new race. For more on this Doctor Who story, or any other general pop culture, make sure to check back to That Hashtag Show.
