The new Lucifer season 5 trailer drops a familial bombshell: the devil’s twin brother.

The trailer begins with Chloe adjusting to life after Lucifer returned to Hell at the end of season 4. She’s coping with her heartbreak by partying it up with Maze. But then Lucifer shows up again and she kisses him (a few times). The only problem is it might not be Lucifer at all.

In the final moments of the season 5 trailer we learn Lucifer has a twin brother, Michael.

“I’m not gonna break Lucifer’s life. I’m gonna take it,” he says.

Sounds like a devious plan in the making! Check out the trailer below.

Lucifer follows Lucifer himself (Tom Ellis) as he abandons his post as Lord of Hell to run a Los Angeles nightclub. In doing so, he makes connections with the LAPD and helps them solve crimes. The series is an adaptation of the DC comic created by Neil Gaiman, Sam Kieth, and Mike Dringenberg.

The fifth season of Lucifer will be split into two separate parts. The first eight episodes of season 5 will drop August 21 on Netflix.

Lucifer’s final season

After Fox cancelled Lucifer after season 3, fans launched a massive online campaign to bring back the show. Netflix ended up picking up the series. After season 4 aired on the streaming platform, Netflix announced the fifth season would be the show’s last.

But the Devil proved resilient once again – Netflix added an additional season pickup. They say the sixth season will (really, actually, for real this time) be the show’s last.
