The teaser for The Walking Dead spinoff shows Morgan Jones (Lennie James) trying to escape from a bounty hunter. Oh, and for some reason his eyes turn red. (That can’t be good.)

“It’s not allergies. There’s something going on with Morgan,” executive producer Andrew Chambliss joked during the reveal.

Executive producer Ian Goldberg teased a darker tone for the upcoming season. Season 6 has an “anthology structure” that allows for more of a deep dive into the characters’ experiences.

“They are living under Virginia’s rule…it’s a big paradigm shift. The thing that we were really interested in exploring in Season 6 is: ‘What does that do to these characters now that they’re living under completely different circumstances?’ We’re gonna see some very different shades of these characters this season because they’re all gonna be tested in ways maybe they haven’t been tested before,” said Goldberg.

Scott M. Gimple, head of the Walking Dead franchise, also seemed to hint the season would feature multiple time jumps. While he wouldn’t go too into detail, Gimple did say fans should expect the format to be “very, very unusual” compared to other shows in the franchise.
