Dune

Warner Bros. just dropped our first real look at the upcoming sci-fi epic Dune.

The first trailer – teased yesterday – showcases a desert planet, some sci-fi action, and a whole host of well-known stars.

Check out the official trailer below.

A mythic and emotionally charged hero’s journey, Dune tells the story of Paul Atreides, a brilliant and gifted young man born into a great destiny beyond his understanding, who must travel to the most dangerous planet in the universe to ensure the future of his family and his people. As malevolent forces explode into conflict over the planet’s exclusive supply of the most precious resource in existence—a commodity capable of unlocking humanity’s greatest potential—only those who can conquer their fear will survive.

The star-studded cast includes Timothée Chalamet, Javier Bardem, Josh Brolin, Rebecca Ferguson, Oscar Isaac, Jason Momoa, and Zendaya.

Oscar nominee Denis Villeneuve directs the film from a screenplay he co-wrote with Jon Spaihts and Eric Roth. The film is based on Frank Herbert’s successful novel series of the same name.

Dune hits theaters December 18.
