Attention Archive 81 fans! You’re finally about to get some scary visuals to match your favorite audio horror archive. Netflix just ordered a series adaptation of the podcast.

Here’s the official description for the show:

When archivist Dan Turner takes a mysterious job restoring a collection of damaged videotapes from 1994, he finds himself reconstructing the work of documentary filmmaker Melody Pendras and her investigation into a dangerous cult. As Dan is drawn into Melody’s story, he becomes convinced he can save her from the terrifying end she met 25 years ago.

Mamoudou Athie (Jurassic World: Dominion) plays Dan Turner. Dina Shihabi (Altered Carbon, Ramy) plays Melody Pendras.

Netflix greenlight Archive 81 for an eight-episode first season. The project comes from a ton of seasoned genre writers and producers. Rebecca Sonnenshine of The Boys and Vampire Diaries acts as showrunner. Plus, Stranger Things alum Rebecca Thomas serves as executive producer. She will also direct the first half of the season. (Thomas also helped adapt another popular podcast to screen, Limetown.)

“With Archive 81, we’re hoping to give the supernatural horror genre a new twist — while keeping a dark, deeply emotional romance as its core,” said Sonnenshine. “Alongside the talented Mamoudou Athie and Dina Shihabi, and visionary partners Atomic Monster and Rebecca Thomas, I’m excited to take Netflix viewers on a terrifying and visually thrilling adventure.”

James Wan’s Atomic Monster also produces the series. In addition, fans will be happy to know the series will hold some ties to the podcast. Original Archive 81 creators Marc Sollinger and Daniel Powell will serve as co-producers.

The Archive 81 podcast focuses on “found footage” style horror. It has aired three seasons to date.

So, are you excited for a new version of Archive 81?
