Hold onto your butts kids! Amazon Prime is bringing us a new and exciting YA Series, Panic! If you love mystery, intrigue, love triangles, and trailer trash boys, this is the new show for you. Based on the wildly successful book of the same name by Lauren Oliver, Panic tells the story of a group of small-town, graduating students in Carp, Texas as they take on the very popular, yet oh-so dangerous game – Panic! If you choose to play Panic, the game uses the players’ fears against them in multiple challenges. If you end up being the last one standing you will win 50 thousand dollars!

The Protagonist of this story is Heather Nill (Olivia Welch), a trailer trash girl whose mother cares more about drugs and her on-again/off-again boyfriend than taking care of her own children. Her two best friends are Natalie Williams (Jessica Sula), an aspiring actress and daughter of a Police Officer,  and Bishop Moore (Camron Jones), the rich kid who’s in love with the girl from the wrong side of the tracks. Filling out our love triangle is Ray Hall (Ray Nicholson), the white trash bad boy, and our mysterious newcomer Dodge Mason (Mike Faist).

Panic Is Well Worth Your Time

I absolutely LOVED this series. Panic is full of twists and turns, and mysterious reveals. The actors all did a phenomenal job, and Lauren Oliver has proven herself not just as a novelist, but as a series writer. Something I also appreciated is that, yes, Panic is not only a fantastic viewing experience, but it’s so much more than that. Panic is a series about stories, your story, my story – choosing your own story. Panic forces you to examine one’s life and the story you choose to tell. Will we follow the path laid out for us? Will we fall into the same traps as those before us? Or will we forge our own future? Only we can decide and Panic can help you decide.
