You might’ve watched the Demon Slayer: Mugen Train anime film either in theaters or on Funimation. Now you can watch it at home without paying anyone a cent. At least, not beyond the cost of the Blu-ray box and disc.

Demon Slayer: Mugen Train Blu-ray Standard Edition.
Ah, I can already smell that new Blu-ray boxed set smell already.

Funimation officially announces that they are finally bringing the Demon Slayer: Mugen Train anime film to home media. You can now preorder 2 versions of the Blu-ray boxed sets. Both versions will launch on December 21, 2021. Right around Christmas time, really. What better gift can you give your loved one than a Blu-ray copy of one of the best anime films of all time?

It’s not the release date that both versions of these Blu-ray box sets share. Other things that are in both versions include an aspect ratio of 16:9 HD Wide Screen / 1920x1080p, a R rating in the US, audio in both English DTS HD Master Audio 5.1CH and Japanese DTS HD Master Audio 5.1CH, English subtitles, and a runtime of 1 hour and 57 minutes. That said, now let’s get into the details of each version.

Demon Slayer: Mugen Train ~ Standard Edition

Sometimes the best things in life are the simplest.

The Standard Edition contains only the box and Blu-ray. You can see the cover art for it above, which is more or less identical to the theatrical release posters. The paper art on the box itself also contains some original art too.

The back cover art is cool too.

You can preorder the Demon Slayer: Mugen Train Blu-ray Standard Edition directly from Funimation for $34.98. Note that there is a limit of 5 per order. You can also preorder from Amazon, Walmart, Best Buy, RightStuf, and more.

Demon Slayer: Mugen Train ~ Limited Edition

The special art is nice too. Just ignore the SAMPLE in the middle.

The Limited Edition is where we get the goodies. This version from Aniplex of America comes with an original soundtrack CD, deluxe booklet, rigid box with exclusive art by character designer Akira Matsushima, special digipak featuring art by ufotable, as well as audio commentary with English subtitles from Natsuki Hanae (Tanjiro Kamado), Akari Kito (Nezuko Kamado), Hiro Shimono (Zenitsu Agatsuma), Yoshitsugu Matsuoka (Inosuke Hashibira), and Satoshi Hino (Kyojuro Rengoku).

You can preorder the Demon Slayer: Mugen Train Blu-ray Limited Edition from Right Stuf Anime for a retail price of $79.98. However, as of this writing, there is currently a preorder discount of 25%. This lowers the price down to $69.98. If you really want those goodies, then now might be the best time to do it.

Conclusion

The Demon Slayer: Mugen Train anime film is now finally getting a Blu-ray release from Funimation. Both the Standard Edition and the Limited Edition (with all the goodies) are now available for preorder. You can’t actually get either version until December 21, 2021 though. Fortunately, it’s not that far off. If you want to own a copy of one of the best anime films ever made, which is also based on the best-selling manga by Koyoharu Gotouge, now might be the best time to do it.
