Apparently, the sci-fi classic anime Trigun is going to get a reboot in the form of Trigun Stampede. Now it seems though, Crunchyroll wants it. Or rather, they already have it now. It’s just a matter of when the anime comes out.

The Return of Vash the Stampede?

Only a logo for now, I’m afraid.

Crunchyroll is proud to announce that they have acquired Trigun Stampede for their streaming platform. This reboot of the legendary Trigun anime will apparently make its debut sometime in 2023. On its release date, Crunchyroll will simulcast it in over 200 countries and territories worldwide, so you’ll have plenty of opportunities to see it. Provided you pay to get past the shiny new paywall, of course.

That’s not all though. Apparently, at this year’s Anime Expo on July 2 at 8:00 PM (PT), that particular panel will feature more information about Trigun Stampede. Said panel will feature an appearance by the creator of Trigun himself: Yasuhiro Nightow, along with the producers and designers of the upcoming reboot anime as the main feature of the panel. Nightow, the producers, and the designer will apparently talk about the anime itself, and the behind-the-scenes portion of its production. If you want to know more about how they’ll reboot Trigun, then I suggest either attending Anime Expo 2022 for yourself or just watching the recap on YouTube and various social media sites. You can also return here for more info about this reboot anime as we get it.

You can also find more information from Trigun Stampede‘s new official website, or their Twitter account.

One of the SEEDS ships, I presume?

We don’t know much about Trigun Stampede at the moment, but here’s what we do know. This 2023 reboot of the original 1998 Trigun anime adaptation of the manga of the same name by Yasuhiro Nightow will feature Orange (Land of the Lustrous, Beastars, Star Fox Zero: The Battle Begins) as the new animation studio. Orange is known for its very high-quality animation and CGI, so that’s something you won’t have to worry about.

While we don’t have a synopsis of Trigun Stampede, we do have a synopsis for the original Trigun anime. Crunchyroll has it on their page for the anime. Check it out below:

“Vash the Stampede is a wanted gunslinger with a habit of turning entire towns into rubble. His path of destruction reaches across the wastelands of a desert planet. Oddly enough, for such an infamous outlaw, there’s no proof he’s ever taken a life. In fact, he’s a pacifist who’s more doofus than desperado. There’s definitely a whole lot more to Vash than his reputation lets on.”

You can watch the original Trigun anime on Crunchyroll or Funimation. If you like it, then you can also watch the 2010 anime film Trigun: Badlands Rumble on those same streaming services.
