After a 24-day reservation soft opening, Disneyland’s Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge is now open to the public. This has been a long road to travel, but we are here now. As expected, crowds were huge for the first general admission day at the Disneyland park expansion.

The land itself is vast, spanning about 14 acres, and has lots to offer. From Savi’s Workshop to the Droid Depot and even Oga Cantina, this land has everything for all Star Wars fans. And once Disneyland opened on Monday, the new land was at maximum capacity.

The reservations for both the Cantina and Savi’s Workshop were full, and guests were being told to go into the land’s virtual queue to try to see if they can get into the land later that day. The restaurants weren’t crowded in the morning, but you better believe they were later in the day.

Probably the most populated experience in the land is Millennium Falcon: Smuggler’s Run. This ride has easily been the most popular attraction in the land, if not all of Disneyland. And it’s easy to see why: you get to fly the fastest hunk of junk in the galaxy.!

Galaxy’s Edge is certainly something special. It’s the first time we’re getting an immersive Star Wars land in any of the Disney Parks. (Galaxy’s Edge comes to Disney World too, don’t forget, later this summer.) It’s something fresh and new, something that will be enjoyed for so many years to come…. And with a new slate of Star Wars films starting up in 2022, we can expect the Star Wars land to host new generations of fans.
