If you haven’t heard, HBO Max is bringing back your favorite Looney Tunes characters for an updated series. During Comic-Con@Home Sunday, show creators debuted a new short featuring Daffy Duck and Porky Pig.

The short, titled “Postalgeist,” takes the two on a supernatural adventure to deliver a package to a haunted inn. Of course, in the cartoon world things are never quite that easy. Daffy and Porky accidentally awaken an irritable ghost who starts causing trouble.

The creators of the new Looney Tunes Cartoons have made a real effort to give the show the same feel as the old cartoons.

“It was just honing in on the aesthetic that I loved,” said executive producer Pete Browngardt. “Trying to recapture that visual look and style from the ’30s, ’40s, and ’50s, and trying to recreate it in this modern age.”

The ‘40s version of the characters especially influenced the series. Supervising producer Alex Kirwan described the energy as “zany.”

“[The ‘40s] was our favorite era of the shorts and we just wanted more of that,” said Kirwan. “What we love about the shorts is that they’re wonderful slapstick humor and we just wanted to get back to [that].”
