Hello everyone, your friendly neighborhood, Professor Hulk, here. I’m about to drop some knowledge of some exciting stuff in the film and TV world. Last week we shared with you details on Sly Cooper. This week, we’re talking about Pokémon.

We’ve exclusively learned that Netflix is committing to a Pokémon cinematic universe, starting with the upcoming show.

The Show

Netflix is developing a Pokémon Live-Action Series for the service, as has already been reported. As reported by my sources, this series is being heavily invested in by Netflix, who told me that the film is seen as a significant get for the streaming service.

One Of The Projects

One project shared with me was a show that, as per my sources, “tells the origins of the Pokémon universe.” My source later confirmed this to be the announced Pokémon series showcased during the February 27th Pokémon Presents.

Other Upcoming Projects

We can exclusively share that there are two other projects in development.

One of these projects is set to follow the (mis)adventures of the Team Rocket trio. This includes Jessie, James, and Meowth. The trio were the antagonists in the original anime; but they’ll be the protagonists in this new animated series. They are undoubtedly showing a different side to them.

The final project is a CGI-Live Action hybrid that will “see a young boy become a Pokémon.” As bizarre as it sounds, it was the plot point for one of the spin-off series, Pokémon Mystery Dungeon. So most likely, the project would be adapting those spin-off titles.

Netflix is clearly interested in new and exciting video game adaptations. Adapting Pokémon is going to be one of their leading franchises going forward. Are you excited to see these Netflix Pokémon projects? Sound off below!
