The Mexican Pizza is returning to Taco Bell, and the fast food chain is celebrating with a musical.

Sometimes, the internet comes together in the strangest ways. Following Taco Bell’s announcement that the Mexican Pizza would return to the menu, Doja Cat made a TikTok jingle about it. It went viral, along with digital creator Victor Kunda’s response – an interpretation of a Mexican Pizza Musical rehearsal.

The TikTok success and online reactions to the content made Taco Bell decide to turn Mexican Pizza: The Musical into a reality. Hannah Friedman (Obi-Wan Kenobi) wrote the script, while Grammy-winning duo Abigail Barlow and Emily Bear wrote the score. 

So, where does Parton come into all this? Well, she’s just a big Taco Bell fan, apparently. She discussed the fast-food chain with Insider back in January.

“I like soft-shell tacos,” Parton said. “So I always get a Taco Supreme, with the sour cream and all that, in the soft shell. I love that. I get an order of rice and beans. And I get mild sauce. I don’t like to get it too hot and ruin everything.” 

And crucially, when asked if Taco Bell should bring back the Mexican Pizza, Parton said, “I think they should!”

Dreams do come true, I guess.

The Mexican Pizza will return to Taco Bell menus starting May 19. Which means you can enjoy your own Mexican Pizza while tuning in for the Mexican Pizza: The Musical premiere on TikTok May 26.
