Thank the Maker, 2020 is about over! After a year of “what in the heck is going on?” we can hopefully start 2021 off on a good note. Now, not all of 2020 was bad. Not only did we get a new Star Wars: Holiday Special, we also got a lot of great Star Wars action figures in 2020. Between the 40th anniversary of The Empire Strikes to the hit Disney+ series the Mandalorian, there was just about an action figure for everyone. Here is my list of the top ten Star Wars action figures (announced or available) of 2020.
10. Hasbro Star Wars The Black Series Jar Jar Binks
Mesa been waiting for this figure for a while. Like him or hate him Jar Jar Binks did have a huge impact on the Empire gaining control of everything. This is why I feel he is a must have in any Star Wars collection. The Jar Jar Binks action figure retails for $29.99 and is available at Entertainment Earth for pre-order!
9. Meisho Movie Realization Ronin Mandalorian
The Meisho Movie Realization Ronin Mandalorian action figure is a must have for any fan of The Mandalorian. Styled by Takayuki and inspired by the motif of a ronin, this action figure’s details are like no other. Also with accessories like Mando’s Amban Phase-Pulse Blaster and a katana sword you will have plenty of options for this figure. This Mando Ronin figure retails for $100 and is available now to pre-order from Premium Bandi.
8. Darth Maul Collector’s Edition Action Figure by Diamond Select – Star Wars – 7”
The Darth Maul Collector’s Edition Action Figure by Diamond Select was on of the two new figures introduced in their new Star Wars 7″ line. Darth Maul comes with a lot of amazing accessories like his double bladed lightsaber, action effect blades, and even a blaster deflection accessory. This is a must have for any Maul fan. This figure retails for $24.99 and is available at Disney stores and shopDisney.com.
7. The Black Series Ahsoka & 332nd Ahsoka’s Clone Trooper
I had to put these figures together, I mean you cant have one without the other, right? Inspired by season 7 of Star Wars: The Clone Wars, we get Ahsoka and her newly assigned 332nd Clone Trooper. These figures are Walmart exclusives and unfortunately sold out.
6. Star Wars The Black Series Heavy Infantry Mandalorian 6-inch Action Figure
It was hard not to put this figure in my top 5. The Black Series Heavy Infantry Mandalorian action figure’s detail is amazing. The other great thing about this figure is that because if it’s weight it makes it easier to pose. If you missed out on this figure when it was on sale at Best Buy, don’t fear. The Heavy Infantry Mandalorian retails for $29.99 and is available now for pre-order at Entertainment Earth.
5. Star Wars Black Series Mandalorian Super Commando
The Star Wars Black Series Mandalorian Super Commando could have gone anywhere in the top 5. The Mandalorian Super Commando wore modified armor to show their loyalty to Maul. This figure was also a Walmart exclusive and sold out instantly.
4. Star Wars The Vintage Collection Star Wars: The Clone Wars 501st Legion ARC Troopers
These figures inspired by Star Wars: The Clone wars, gives us Clone Troopers Echo, Fives, and Jesse in 3.75 – inch form. While it was great that these action figures came all together, it, like many exclusives sold out pretty quick. When in stock these 501st Legion ARC Troopers retailed for $50.
3. Star Wars The Mandalorian The Retro Collection Action Figures
With the Star Wars The Mandalorian The Retro Collection Action Figures you get the characters from the hottest show on Disney+ The Mandalorian, with a retro Kenner feel. The Mandalorian series includes The Mandalorian, Cara Dune, IG-11, Kuiil, The Child, Moff Gideon, and Greef Karga. These action figures are available at retailers like Entertainment Earth and Hasbro.
2. Hasbro Cad Bane & Todo 360 The Black Series Deluxe Exclusive
While we still might be waiting for Cad Bane to make his live action live action appearance, we didn’t have to wait to get our hands on his The Black Series action figure. Some fans were lucky enough to grab the deluxe version that included Todo 360. If you were not one of those lucky fans, all is not lost. You can still order the Cad Bane figure itself at retailers like Entertainment Earth and TRG Toys & Collectibles.
1. Diamond Select Boba Fett 7″ Action Figure
Diamond select surprised us this year with their new Star Wars 7″ line. The 1st figured revealed in this lineup was the Return of the Jedi Boba Fett action figure. This figure has amazing detail and different accessory options for posing. This figure retails for $24.99 and is a Disney Store exclusive. When in stock it can also be found at shopDisney.com.
