Hello, Camp Half-Blood! We’re back with some more Percy Jackson & the Olympians updates.
The much-anticipated Disney+ series recently made its first casting announcement, revealing Walker Scobell would take on the role of Percy. Author Rick Riordan has hinted that casting for the other two members of the core trio, Annabeth and Grover, will release soon.
In the meantime, however, the series is continuing its search for additional characters to fill out the PJO universe. The most recent casting call reveals that the series is now looking to cast Clarisse La Rue and Nancy Bobofit. These roles are interesting because both characters initially start as bullies to Percy and his friends (though Clarisse eventually becomes an ally, rather than a rival).
Who is Clarisse La Rue?
Clarisse La Rue is a daughter of Ares, God of War. In The Lightning Thief, she’s known as a bully at Camp Half-Blood, and especially dislikes Percy after he (accidentally) overpowers her while she tries to stick his head down a toilet.
Clarisse is a recurring character in Riordan’s first PJO novel, but takes on a much more significant role in the second book, Sea of Monsters. Ultimately over the course of the series, she becomes an ally and friend to the Golden Trio.
Percy Jackson & the Olympians is currently looking for an actress to play Clarisse as 13 – 15 years old. The character will appear in three episodes of the first season (episodes 2, 3, and 8). Reflecting the overall plot of the book series, the casting call specifies the role is intended to appear in future seasons, should the series get picked up for more.
Who is Nancy Bobofit?
Nancy Bobofit is another bully, though of the strictly mortal variety. She attends Yancy Academy with Percy and Grover. A teacher’s pet, she unknowingly reveals Percy to be a demigod to Alecto (disguised as Mrs. Dodds) after provoking him into using his powers.
Percy Jackson & the Olympians is currently looking for an actress to play a 12-year-old Nancy. Currently, she’s only set to appear in the first episode of the series.

Disney has not revealed a potential release date for Percy Jackson & the Olympians. But the series will officially begin production next month.
