The Lord of the Rings is one of the most famous fantasy franchises in history. It’s not hard to see why either. The original 1954-1955 novel trilogy by J. R. R. Tolkien has captured the attention of practically the entire world. Then the Peter Jackson live-action film trilogy made its debut in 2001-2003, and then that attention only skyrocketed. The effect of both of those is that The Lord of the Rings is practically a household name in the world right now. With the resulting merch from that fame only boosting it further. And now, we’re about to get more of that lovely, collectible merch.
Mondo is proud to announce a brand new poster collection inspired by The Lord of the Rings, now available for preorder. The collection consists of a trio of posters, featuring art by Riccardo Federici. Each one depicts an iconic scene straight from the LotR films, from Éowyn facing off against the Witch-king of Angmar to the Ents’ rampage into Isengard with the tower of Orthanc looming in the background. In fact, you can see what I mean below:

All of these The Lord of the Rings posters are available for preorder for a retail price of $95.00. There is also a bundle with all three posters going for $270.00, as well as a limited edition sketched variant of the posters going for $300.00 (that is sadly sold out as of this writing). You can preorder all of these directly from Mondo’s official webstore.
Mondo Now Offering Limited Edition The Lord of the Rings Posters for Preorder
I have to admit: these The Lord of the Rings posters look very nice indeed. If you like some very nice artwork of iconic battles from the films on par with actual classical paintings, then these are the posters for you. The key problem for most people though would be the prices. $95 for a single painting, let alone all three of them, is a big ask for most normal people. Thus, for the prices alone, this will probably be only for the most diehard LotR fans…or the most wealthy.
