Terror Tuesday and Weird Wednesday are an institution at Alamo Drafthouse Cinemas, you just don’t know it yet. The twosome of programming series have been showing off the best hand-picked cult flims on the big screen and now everyone is going to know the majesty and wonder in 2026.
Both series are expanding from a handful of cities to every corporate Alamo Drafthouse nationwide, turning select Tuesdays and Wednesdays each month into your favorite nights of the week.
Terror Tuesday is a chance to catch your favorite thriller on the big screen or discover a new deep cut that’ll unsettle you for years to come. The series kicks off with The Cat, a cosmic Hong Kong rampage where an interstellar feline battles a demonic space monster, complete with stop-motion freakouts, gooey creature mayhem, and the most operatic cat-vs-dog showdown imaginable.
Weird Wednesday takes audiences to the fringe, outer rim of genre films. The first film in January 2026 is Gremlins 2: The New Batch. Joe Dante’s defiantly bonkers sequel where every rule from the first film is tossed into a paper shredder and fired out of a confetti cannon. It’s a live-action cartoon that satirizes its own studio but somehow got a studio budget.
