30 years, numerous kills, and oh so many killer reveals have all led to this. With series creator Kevin Williamson in the Scream 7 director’s chair, some may be wondering why it took so long. A truly momentous occasion in franchise history, that fact isn’t lost on Neve Campbell and the rest of the February sequel’s cast; which you’ll be able to witness in the sixth sequel’s latest marketing tease.
Scream 7’s Marketing Is All About Love…And Guts
With Paramount Pictures shifting the Scream 7 promo machine into higher gear, we’re only about a month out from Sydney Evans (née Prescott) return to the playing field she knows so well. In his first Scream writing credit since 2011’s Scream 4, Kevin Williamson is in a similar position, as he finally gets to play in the new era of Ghost Face’d shenanigans.
That leads us to the clip reel in question. You can see Ms. Campbell, as well as returning cast members Jasmin Savoy Brown and Mason Gooding (among others) celebrating this fact, thanks to the video below:
Recognizing this fact gives the love Ms. Campbell and company have shown the Dawson’s Creek mastermind even more credence. Which is the polar opposite of how this Scream project started life.
Scream 7’s Complicated Development Poses A Lot Of Questions
Just when you thought it was safe to sharpen your knife in Woodsboro, the sequel to Scream VI found itself in a bit of a tangled limbo. Starting with Melissa Barrera’s sudden dismissal over comments on the war in Gaza, many other shake ups ensued. Chiefly among them was Jenna Ortega’s own Scream 7 departure, as well as director Christopher Landon’s blink and you’ll miss it turn at bat.
It wasn’t long before the Spyglass Productions venture found itself into its current form, which also marks a lot of Scream veterans returning – despite how they may have left in previous entries. Despite its tumultuous path, this new tribute to the enduring legacy of Wes Craven and Kevin Williamson’s collaboration still looks to be fueled by love of all sorts. At the same time, Scream 7 certainly has its work cut out for it, as we’ll now be wondering where exactly the Carpenter sisters ran off to?

Also, why is Sidney even involved in this life yet again; with her daughter (Isabel May) in tow? All of this, plus the long awaited return of Matthew Lillard’s Stu Macher act as questions that need answers. Hopefully this latest dance with death will provide everything the die-hards could want. After all, there’s always room for a new Ghost Face Killer.
We’ll see on February 27th, as that’s the day that Scream 7 makes history by adding its first IMAX entry to the already planned traditional and 4DX formats already on the books.
