With the success of The Super Mario Bros. Movie in 2023, it’s really not hard to see why Illumination and Nintendo are moving forward with The Super Mario Galaxy Movie.

It’s basically an attempt at adapting the other adventures of Mario to the big screen. Specifically, Super Mario Galaxy and its 2010 sequel, in this case, with Aaron Horvath and Michael Jelenic returning to direct this sequel to boot. Fortunately, it won’t be long at all before we can see that movie in theaters. Because of that, it’s not hard to see why Illumination and Nintendo would want to hype it up before its impending screening, thus explaining why we have our story here for today.

Illumination and Nintendo are proud to hype up The Super Mario Galaxy Movie with a bunch of new character posters. In fact, there are seven in total. Every one of them reminds us that this sequel will soon make its theatrical debut on April 1, 2026. As for those character posters? Well, you can see all of them below:

New The Super Mario Galaxy Movie Character Posters Amp Up Hype For Impending Theatrical Debut on April 1

Honestly, it looks like we might have another star on our hands.

The new character posters give us a pretty interesting look at what we’re going to get in The Super Mario Galaxy Movie. Interestingly, this will be the first time we see Baby Bowser (aka. Bowser Jr.), as well as Yoshi, trying to keep Baby Mario and Baby Luigi safe from the clutches of…a weirdly hyper-realistic T. rex straight out of Jurassic Park? I don’t remember that being in either of the Super Mario Galaxy games.

In fact, that T. rex appears to have come from Super Mario Odyssey, where one of the first worlds you go to prominently features a prehistoric theme dominated by a T. rex. If they’re including elements of Super Mario Odyssey, what else are they going to put into this sequel film? I suppose we’ll find out on April 1.
